A Daughter’s Last Photoshoot Before Cancer’s Finality: Elizabeth Blue

A Daughter’s Last Photoshoot Before Cancer’s Finality: Elizabeth Blue.

The amazing photographer, Jade Beall, took hundreds of beautiful photographs of my daughter Elizabeth Blue, in April of 2012, during the luminous time when Elizabeth had finished chemo and before the cancer returned in her brain.  Jade wrote a blog post today about her experience of photographing Elizabeth Blue, with photos I haven’t shared yet (I plan to share many more over time) and I am delighted to share it here!

Jade is devoted to sharing beauty, with an incredible eye and vision and a huge heart, she inspires many.

I write on my blog about my experience with my daughter Elizabeth Blue, during the last year of her life living with cancer and dying in a state of grace. I follow my passion in my work, doing Energy Healing (Reiki, Karuna Reiki and Craniosacral work) and spiritual counseling, in person and at a distance, teaching Reiki and facilitating spiritual workshops. 2. I’m a big, strong man who is tough. I’ve played sports all my life, am a former police office, and am not supposed to show emotion; however, I shed several tears after seeing this page. I don’t know what I would handle this. You’re extremely strong.

    1. Walter, thank you for reading this and for taking the time to comment. I am glad that even though you are strong, you allowed yourself to feel what is natural. It is one of those things in life that you simply do your best, and hope you can show up with the most loving, compassionate presence possible. I feel my years of spiritual and healing work helped prepare me, but I don’t know how my daughter was able to move so quickly into such a peaceful state of acceptance and love. I am grateful for your connection, thank you.
